Jerry Alderman was born in Indianapolis, IN and moved to North Palm Beach, FL around the age of 4. Jerry grew up in Palm Beach County and started his law enforcement career as a drill instructor for Martin County Sheriff’s Office JOTC boot camp in 2000. Jerry and Sarah met in 2003 and were married in 2007.
Jerry Alderman is now a former Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputy with more than 20 years of law enforcement service, including specialized assignments on critical response teams and SWAT. In October 2019, while off duty, Jerry responded to reports of active vehicle burglaries outside a downtown West Palm Beach business. A brief, escalating encounter lasting less – than one minute – ultimately led to criminal charges against him.
Despite disputed evidence, unresolved investigative failures, and significant procedural irregularities raised throughout the legal process, Jerry was convicted in 2022 and sentenced to nearly 9 years in prison. Jerry maintains his innocence and asserts that his actions were lawful, restrained, and consistent with his training and duty to act.
This site exists to present the facts of Jerry Alderman’s case, highlight the due process concerns surrounding his conviction and sentence, and advocate for executive clemency as the most direct path to correcting what his family and supporters believe is a grave miscarriage of justice.
